Beach Time!

First and foremost--as most of you know we have a slow mover on our hands! Greyson started army crawling already right when he turned 6 months old! He is so inquisitive and wants to know what everything is. He doesn't move very fast or far yet, but he's well on his way. Connor isn't too far behind him, but he's happy just lounging around for now!

We took them to Santa Cruz with our friends: Jessica & Danny, Casie & Tyler and their little guy Ryan. This was the farthest we've traveled with the boys so we didn't know how the day would go. Since my children are among the whitest babies in the world we had to find a spot with shade...without having a huge umbrella we reluctantly had to settle behind Lifeguard Stand #4 in the little bit of shade that it gave. It was a bit difficult to try and keep the boys' hands out of the sand because even with a big blanket that stuff is very sneaky and gets all over the place. Once Ryan got there (and after a quick nap for a baby and Daddy) we took the 3 boys to the ocean! All 3 got to experience the water at the same time with a skillful simultaneous baby feet dunk as the waves rushed in. Connor and Greyson started crying immediately, while their water friendly companion didn't even blink an eye. Ryan played in the water for a few minutes without a single complaint. One dunk in the water was more than enough for my guys...I don't blame them, that water is freezing!

The rest of the afternoon was spent lounging in the slightly decreasing shade from stand #4 and playing Catch Phrase with everyone. I discovered that I am not the greatest describer of random words, but it was fun! We decided to leave the beach early because everyone else was going out to dinner and I knew the boys wouldn't last that long. After a 30 minute nap on the way home, Connor decided he didn't wanna be in his car seat any more and decided to scream the entire way home. We made a much needed pit stop at a Babies R Us so the boys could play for awhile (and to avoid early holiday traffic). After happily playing with all the fun things, it was back in the car for 45 more minutes, all of which Connor screamed for. Greyson even joined in for the last 30 minutes because he figured one crying baby just isn't enough!

The day was fun, the car ride home was terrible, and I got a fantastic sunburn that will remain with me for a few days.
